General Maxime Weygand, present commander of French armies is in the front row, second from the left. Marshal Foch is second from the right. Terms of that armistice called for evacuation of France, repatriation of inhabitants to occupied territories, surrender of huge military stores, delivery of 5,000 locomotives and 150,000 railway cars, and surrender of virtually all the German fleet. But terms that hurt more were evacuation of the Rhineland and its occupation by Allied troops, and the repatriation of all Allied prisoners of war held in Germany without reciprocity. The Germans were likewise forced to renounce terms of the treaty with Russia after Russia's defeat. The armistice was dated 5 a.m., Nov. 11, 1918. Photo measures 7 x 9 inches. Photo Is dated 1918.
