Antique French pressed horn button set or lot: ~ Very detailed old buttons from Caen, France - a community in Northern France / Normandy famous for their very fine horn buttons ~ Round in shape with an inset brass flower design ~  Light catching iridescent mother of pearl or abalone clam shell mosaic ~ Two small "whistle" type button holes appear as one deep set larger hole from the front side, but from the reverse you can clearly see that they are two petite holes ~ Nice sized collection of 12 matching buttons ~ Ready and waiting for your display, craft or sewing project, collection, and/or gift giving ESTIMATED AGE OR ERA = True antique buttons - guessing 1800's in age - Victorian era - this style was very popular circa 1875 METAL AND/OR MATERIAL = Pressed horn, shell, and brass flowers CLOSURE/CLASP = x MARKS = The backs have pressed or incorporated markings that reads L. C. J. & F.   CAEN MEASUREMENTS =  Aprox 5/8" in diameter and a thickness of 1/8" US RING SIZE = x WEIGHT = x INVENTORY NUMBER = x CONDITION = Good vintage condition - given the age and rarity.  Most are in great shape - but a few have color variances, shell loss, nibbles / material loss, one is missing it's brass floral inlay and one floral inlay is darkened or tarnished, and random small damages here and there - just one or two in particular that stand out.  See last few pics. In an excellent state of preservation overall.
